Can’t We All Just Get Along?

Well I can’t seem to get to this page, among several other pages. Other users can get to it, so I guess it must be Comcast’s problem. It’s been unaccessible for several hours. Ironically I can update it through Blogger.
I really wish I had this weblog during college. It’s been interesting going back and reading old entries. I’m not sure how long Blogger can continue to provide this free service. Seems like a lot of free FTP bandwidth.
I’ve been thinking about this whole Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Here’s what needs to happen.

  • Palestinians should stop sending the suicide bombers. These bombers only reduce legitimacy of their statehood cause in the eyes of western democracies. Civilized people don’t use suicide bombers. I still haven’t come to grips with the mentality of the suicide bombers.
  • Israel needs to pull their tanks back to their own territory. They are only causing more anger in the eyes of the Palestinians.
  • Palestine should have its own state. These people have shown that they cannot live in peace with Israel. So let them have their state on their own.
  • Jerusalem should be governed by UN representatives. Since it is considered holy by 3 religions, no specific country should have control over it.
  • The US should stop sending money to Israel. It has caused us greater harm than good by doing this. I see no need to continue to support Israel. We only do it because the Jewish lobby is so powerful. Also US tourists like to visit holy sites within a friendly country.

Alot of things need to come together in order to achieve peace in the Middle East. For the most part, Americans do not understand why countries are fighting over desert territory the size of New Jersey. But to each his own.
