Ok here is some church news from this weekend.
Apparently Green Hill Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet has changed their name to simply “Green Hill Church.” I’m sure the name change has probably been in effect for quite some time, but I just noticed it this weekend. This is becoming a trend among churches today….dropping denominational names and instead going for the generic sounding names. I guess churches don’t want to be attached to some kind of denominational name which might deter potential members from joining.
Scottsville church’s new building is quite nice. I was given the grand tour yesterday by a friend. The most compelling part of it is that the church has showers. I’ve always thought that churches should have showers. It helps when someone has to stay overnight at the church….or if someone doesn’t have time to go home and shower before services begin again.
