Happy Birthday to Me. If you forgot about it, shame on you. You can always make a comment on the link below to express any and all birthday wishes for me.
I’ll have alot of things to do today, with my trip to Ottawa on Monday. Packing; making sure I have my credentials in order and all that. Plus I’ll be loosing an hour of sleep, so I’m sure getting a nap this afternoon will be a necessary priority. I do like Daylight Savings Time. I wish we could have it year round. Summer nights when it doesn’t get dark until 8PM is great. I thrive on sunshine. Lately I’ve been waking up earlier than usual, when the sunlight shines through the windows.
Mark talked to Marshall Wilhite at church on Sunday and Marshall had some pretty strong words to say about daylight savings time. Apparently, he doesn’t like it at all!
I hate DST!! I think we should all go to universal time. Since we are going to a global economy, it would be useful to be on the same time system. For instance, you have business dealings with company X. You don’t know where they are. However, they send you a notice to call their 800 number between 8:00AM and 5:00PM. How do you know when to call them?? If they said to call the 800 number between 08:00UT and 17:00UT you know exactly when to call them. They could be in Louisiana, US or Shanghai, China. If companies want to give their employees more daylight in the afternoon, they can have a standard date when they change everyone’s work schedules. It just takes too much productivity out of peoples’ lives to make this change every fall and spring.
