Hypocracy

Last night I was watching Tim Russert, host of “Meet the Press” on Letterman. Tim said something very alarming on the show. He said we are in a race with the Islamic extremists. The race is whether or not the terrorists will be able to detonate a nuclear device within the borders of America. I wake up everyday wondering if any acts of mass destruction have happened overnight.
What’s wrong with this picture? A couple of years ago, Lipscomb got rid of a bible professor for attending a church that has instrumental music. (Technically the professor resigned). Lipscomb said it was because instrumental music in church was against church tradition. Yet, now Lipscomb is having dc Talk perform on campus as a school sponsored event. “DC Talk” is well known as a contemporary Christian band that uses instrumental music. I find it a bit hypocritical for Lipscomb to do this.
I’m a bit surprised this hasn’t gotten much airplay. The founder of Domino’s Pizza wants to build a 250 foot tall crucifix. Seems a bit over the top if you ask me. I mean, I know people should be excited about their religion, but this is a bit much. Why not use the money to give to the poor?
